I have giant teeth!

A couple of weeks ago Sammi went through an I can eat everything phase.  She first started the week by swallowing a nickel, my mom was watching her and saw her swallow it.  She called me in a panic and we started our rush to the ER, I hadn’t thought it was a big deal having remembered my sister swallowing multiple coins as a child and waiting for them to pass.  On our way I called our doctor and they told me to wait for it to pass and call in a week.  Well the next night she decided to get a bottle of Excedrin PM out of the medicine cabinet to play with in her room.  She brought the bottle to me with the cap off and the blue remnants on her lips.  Needless to say Phillip and I went into instant freak out mode,”Sammi did you swallow any? Sammi how many did you eat?” “Sammi why did you want to play with medicine?”  The first thing that came to Phillip’s mind was to gag her to bring the meds out.  I stood in the kitchen counting the pills to figure out how many were missing and I hear Sammi screaming, “No Daddy, No!” and then all of the sudden Phillip started screaming “AHHHHHHHHH”.  Well duh of course she’s gonna bite him and bite him she did, she sunk her teeth in really deep.  Phillip is furious and I’m still frantic, so I call poison control and they tell me to rush her to the hospital because we don’t know how many she ingested.  Phillip stayed home with Dade and I called my mom on the way to the ER to come meet us.  The nurses set her up with an IV and took blood to figure out the amount of aspirin in her system.  They also set up an xray to check on the nickel.  As we’re waiting the three hours for the results Sammi tells my mom that “daddy was trying to put my head in the toilet, so I bit him, I have giant teeth, See!”

Tests came back and she was found clean, whew. We arrived home at 2:30 am and exhausted from our adventure.

    • aww thanx Amanda, I was paranoid about my writing. I will definitely write more, there is no lack of excitment with this child.

  2. Ah yes, our little adventurous princess. I love reading about her adventures after everything turns out okay. It was a little frantic at the time, except her recanting the head in the toilet and her big teeth.

  3. I love my godchild. She keeps me in stitches. I tell that story to everyone.

  4. oh and I should start something like this to journal my nightmares of dealing with Kate. Although it is rather frustrating to deal with, seeing some of the things she says and does is quite hilarious. Let me know if you agree.
